We are executing our 8(a) Graduation Plan, developed four years ago. We review our performance to plan monthly, adjust if appropriate, and maintain a clear focus on achieving our goals.

At the heart of graduation preparation is planning. We invested in strategic planning to focus our activities and investments for “quality” growth; growth that will differentiate the company. So we know the type of growth we want, where we want to obtain it, and what investments and support are necessary for success. The strategic plan guides our decisions, and we revisit the plan annually.

BRMi Expands Its Client and Contract Base

WASHINGTON, Aug 22 — Battle Resource Management Inc. (BRMi) secured 17 new Federal contracts with 12 client agencies and departments in the past 12 months. The contracts are worth more than $25 million to BRMi.


This contracting activity expands BRMi’s client base to the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Treasury, and Department of State. BRMi secured additional contracts at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., and US Agency for International Development. BRMi also won positions on two government-wide acquisition contracts (GWACs) that make it easier for government clients to engage BRMi’s services.

WashingtonExec Small Business Acquisition Reform Commission (SBARC) Supports DoD Advanced Small Business Pilot Program

VIENNA, July 19 – The Small Business Acquisition Reform Commission (SBARC), formed and executed by WashingtonExec, Inc., commends the work of the United States House of Representatives for the passage of the FY2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on May 18, with a vote of 299-120. The bill (H.R. 4310), which among other reforms requires the Secretary of Defense to establish a pilot program to assist in the growth and development of “advanced” small business concerns (title XVI, Section 1611), represents a necessary step towards maintaining competition, a strong industrial base, and sustainable employment within the small business federal contracting community.


The pilot program, sponsored by Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-CA), will assist in creating and retaining sustainable jobs nation-wide, encourage competitive efficiencies for lean and effective Federal acquisition, and foster the agility and innovation of small business enterprises as they mature.


The legislation provides that a three-year pilot program will be created within the Department of Defense for “advanced” small businesses. The bill applies to all contracts exceeding $25 million and acknowledges that an “advanced” small business may not necessarily meet current United States Small Business Administration (SBA) size standards.


BRMi Hosts 2012 Federal Panel on Telework and BYOD

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 8 – Anita Lynn, BRMi Vice President, and her American Council for Technology (ACT) – Industry Advisory Council (IAC) team members hosted a federal government panel discussion on May 8th on the topic “Telework and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)”.


The American Council for Technology (ACT) – Industry Advisory Council (IAC) is a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to improving government through the application of information technology. ACT-IAC provides an objective, ethical and trusted forum where government and industry exchange information and collaborate on technology issues in the public sector.

AUSTIN, March 28 – BRMi Vice President Jennifer Yang and Senior Consultant Adam Tyczka presented at the Troux Worldwide Conference in Austin, TX. Their presentation was titled “Simplifying Data Currency and Enhancing Data Accuracy for Federal Agencies.” Jennifer and Adam discussed a practical, distributed process for managing enterprise information for federal agencies, which simplifies data ingestion, improves data currency and quality, and enhances reporting.

Virginia Governor McDonnell Appoints Mike Battle to James Madison University Board of Visitors

RICHMOND – On July 6, 2012 Governor Bob McDonnell announced the appointment of Michael B. Battle, the President of Battle Resources Management, Inc. (BRMi), to the James Madison University (JMU) Board of Visitors.


James Madison University is a comprehensive university which is part of the statewide system of public higher education of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The governing body of James Madison University is the board of visitors, which by statute is responsible for overseeing the effective government of the university.


Battle holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration from James Madison University. He is committed to education and youth causes as a member of Boards at James Madison University and the Center for Adoption Support and Education.


Battle has served on various boards at JMU including the College of Business (CoB) Executive Advisory Council, CoB 501(c)(3) Board, and the Duke Club (Athletic Department) Board. Appointees to the Board of Visitors will each serve four-year term.


Solving the Challenges of Records Management within Federal Agencies

On November 30, 2011, BRMi released an in-depth white paper discussing the challenges of Records Management (RM) within Federal Agencies.
