Mike Battle, President
Mike founded BRMi with the vision that bringing together and empowering talented individuals can help organizations successfully execute change. Prior to founding BRMi, for 20 years, Mike lead organizations in operations management, sales and sales management, marketing and business strategy in government and commercial information technology.
Mike is a hands-on leader who has led initiatives to execute major transformation and change initiatives for the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry, the Office of Management and Budget's Line of Business Initiative, Department of Homeland Security's Enterprise Architecture (EA) Program and US Citizenship and Immigration Service's EA Program. He brings organizational leadership experience as senior management at Commerce One, IBM, Computer Sciences Corporation, High Performance Technologies Inc. and Allied Signal.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration from James Madison University. He is committed to education and youth causes as a member of Boards at James Madison University, University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Digital Harbor High School.
Neil Chernoff, Vice President of Consulting Services
Neil is a seasoned and exceptional executive with almost 30 years of broad experience in commercial, federal, and international business. As vice president of consulting services at BRMi, Neil is committed to ensuring that BRMi is delivering the best possible product and services to our clients. He works across the company to align resources, capabilities, and training, recruiting, and market strategies for delivery to the market and client success.
Neil has strong and proven executive management experience as a chief information officer, director of human resources and director of business planning. In addition, he served as chief of staff to the chairman of Booz, Allen & Hamilton and the president of their federal business. As chief technology officer and senior vice president of product development at innoVentry, he was responsible for developing and operating a stream of advanced financial transactions products.
During his diverse consulting career he managed enterprise architecture and information technology (IT) strategy and business process reengineering assignments for more than 20 organizations. These assignments focused on achieving financial and operational excellence through innovative uses of technology.
Neil has developed a solid background in emerging technologies through management of an IT research and development laboratory for a large professional services firm. He also has led many development efforts that have leveraged leading edge technologies throughout his career.
Neil received both his bachelor’s degree in public policy and economics and his master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago.
Richard Borneman, Senior Director of Corporate
Development
Richard is an experienced manager at the executive and general levels and a solutions implementation specialist with more than 20 years of experience. As the director of corporate development for BRMi, he is responsible for the firm’s overall go-to-market strategy, developing business, and aligning the company with partners who share BRMI’s corporate values and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Richard’s experience spans the life cycle of products, systems, and services. He has extensive experience in software and systems testing, including test design and planning, methodology development, execution, and management. Richard has guest lectured at the university level on testing techniques, particularly in support of return on investment analysis. Richard also has had extensive training in program management and program management office processes, functions, and methodologies, and has provided consulting services in these areas to federal, commercial, and international customers.
Richard received his Federal Chief Information Officer certification in 1998. He holds a bachelor of science degree in management from the University of Maryland and has a master of science degree in information technology management from George Mason University. He also holds his certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information Technology (COBIT).
Jennifer Yang, Senior Director of Account Management and
Delivery
Jennifer is a business process renewal and information technology (IT) strategy subject matter expert. She has worked with several public and private organizations to improve their mission critical processes and technical infrastructures. As the director of account management and delivery at BRMi, Jennifer has overall responsibility for the development of delivery, program and project management methods and tools, customer relationship and satisfaction, quality, and working across the firm to pull together the best personnel, tools, methods, and products for client success.
Jennifer's expertise encompasses change management, portfolio management, program management, performance management, business process renewal, and facilitation. She is currently leading the enterprise architecture and transformation efforts at US Citizenship and Immigration Services, serving as an IT strategy liaison and providing business reference model and process modeling support. Prior to this engagement, Jennifer supported the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Office of E-Gov and IT for more than two years assisting with Federal policy development for IT investments and analysis. She supported the initial phases of the OMB Lines of Business initiative and the Federal Enterprise Architecture Program Management Office.
Jennifer graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in economics, and she received a master of arts degree in government with a concentration in Homeland Security from Johns Hopkins University. Her thesis, titled MANAGE IT: Improving the Management of IT Investments in the Federal Government, earned honors distinction and won the William F. Clinger Thesis Award, which recognized an outstanding master’s thesis on institutional or representative government.
Jennifer is active with the MIT Alumni Association as an officer of their board. She also serves on the board of directors and volunteers for Teardrops to Rainbows, a local, volunteer-run, non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life of children with cancer and strengthening the family connection during this difficult time.
